Finance, Money, Philosophy, and the Meaning of Life
Come with me on a journey as we venture through time and space, creating life in the moment, for there is no other way. The past is our memory and the future is just thought. Gifted with both, the rest is up to us. Let’s create!
For the last several years I’ve posted a blog on my business site (www.addthenmultiply.com) but have recently decided it was time to make a change. Writing the blog for Add then Multiply has been an incredibly journey which eventually led to me to writing a book. Its platform, along with inspiration from the KPI programme and Michael Neill, among other incredible individuals, all helped me to achieve my long-held dream of being published.
The blog was a brilliant platform that allowed me to share my musings on everything from inspirational authors and fantastic holiday destinations, to workplace culture and wellbeing. However, I now want to write with a more focused view, hence the move to this new site.
As this is my first post under the “Finance, Money, Philosophy, and the Meaning of Life” banner, let me set out briefly what I mean for each of them.
- Finance – this is my take on business from a financial perspective. I trained as a Chartered Accountant and worked for many years in large and small companies. Since 2010, I have worked exclusively with founders of entrepreneurial businesses, helping them scale using my FACE methodology: Fund, Acquire, Consolidate, Exit. My first book will be published in July, and it tells you all about this methodology and how changing the rules unlocks exponential business growth.
- Money – some might say it’s the root of all evil. A conversation starter, or killer! But I think differently. Money is a tool, that’s all. It’s something that human beings created to facilitate trade, but it has become something entirely different in many people’s heads. I’m currently researching my second book, which will be all about people’s relationship with money. If you’d like to be involved in that research, please get in touch with my assistant, Taryn and we’ll arrange a time to talk.
- Philosophy – according to the Oxford English Dictionary, philosophy is the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence. I did not study the subject at university but have always been fascinated by it and read quite widely around it. What I write will be based on my almost 57 years of experience on this planet and what I’ve come to understand about knowledge, reality and existence.
- The meaning of life – Simple. 42. Check out this link if you want to know more.
That’s all for this week. I hope this post gave you a taste of what’s to come. Next time, I’ll take you on a journey back in time to the 17th century, where we’ll look at a very different kind of money.
